Hi Hans,

Your first blog in November on engineering super stack clearly explained how to set up MATLAB, VS Code, and Claude Code together with MATLAB MCP server. It did help me a lot, and that’s when I got started learning the agentic workflow in MATLAB, so credits to your blogs and many more to come.

But the recent MATLAB mcp server release on GitHub fixed this issue by incorporating lazy call. That is, the Claude Code or VSCode will only call the MATLAB desktop app when MATLAB functions are required to run (In other words, the first call of MATLAB scripts or function). So, yeah, now it seems pretty smooth for me when it comes to using Claude+VSCode with MATLAB.
