'The Facts' are not correct to the degree that not all Curren watches use an SR920SW button cell. My Curren M8273 has an EpsonAL33A movement and uses an SR626SW cell. The removal steps for the back etc remain correct for this model. It's also worth noting that Curren provide advice that contemplates other cells etc depending on the model at https://www.curren.ltd/Knowledge/how_to_replace_the_battery_for_current_quartz_watch.html

What a depressing story. I am happy to hear that you seem upbeat about it. And, happy that you found my post. I wish you well as you rebuild.

Thanks for the detailed instructions they will definitely make a difference on my outcomes of battery replacing as I too have thot I could press the backing back on by hand even after breaking numerous glass fronts of damaging internal mechanisms. Too hard headed to face the facts but with your guidance I have succeeded. Curren watches are unbeatable in price for their looks hands down. I have over 100 watches with about 5 real expensive ones that I almost never wear. Sadly tho I had taken my collection and put in my storage facility that ended up having a massive rain leak resulting in my entire collection being submerged in water for months before realizing anything had gone wrong. I was and still am devastated by my loss yet I still have them all, but most of them now without bands and still smell of mildew. Hoping to find a way to salvage and perhaps resell some day soon.
Thanks again for your guidence

Thanks for the comment. I think I could close it too with some force. I worry about breaking something... the watch or me ;)

I have a few watches that need a tool to close the back lid.It is really frustrating to bring that to a watchsmith merely to close it after replacing the battery by myself
.But surprisingly my 48 mm wide CURREN watch allows me to close it with press of fingers .But it is very hard ,time consuming and leaves me with painful numb thumbs.

Thank you Hans! My watch has had a dead battery for over a year now, and I’ve been wearing a self winding SEIKO that I’ve had for almost 30 years, but I miss all of the complements that I got with my CURREN. I finally decided to find out how to change the battery by searching thru Google, and yours is the very first site that came up! The list of needed supplies, and your very good instructions are going to make changing the battery even easier than I hoped! Again, thank you!

Does it look like my cover? The lip to pry is subtle. Look all the way around and you should notice where the lip changes slightly from the rest. The small change is the width of the pry tool.

I have a Curren watch that I haven't been able to wear for about a year now because the battery died. I thought I might need a watch back removal tool used for Rolexes since my back cover has grooves but it sound like the back is actually a snap on. One thing though, I can't seem to find the lip where a pry tool can be used. Anybody have any ideas on how/where to locate the lip area?
